Professor Michael Vallely MB; BS, PhD, FRACS, FCSANZ

Michael Vallely is a Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Heart, Mount Sinai Morningside and Icahn School of Medicine. He is an Australian trained academic cardiothoracic surgeon with interests in elderly, complex and high-risk patients, including the application of anaortic off-pump, all-arterial CABG, minimal access, structural heart and transcatheter techniques. Other interests include value-based healthcare, integrated healthcare, medical technology investing and transcatheter medical technology.

Professor Vallely has over 140 publications in peer-reviewed journals and three published book chapters. He has presented widely at national and international meetings. He has developed and participated in several first in man procedures and first in man trials and is the senior author on publications that have contributed to changes in international treatment guidelines. He is a long-serving member on the Medtronic Surgical Strategic Advisory Board, is a member of the Getinge Surgical Advisory Board, is a Co-Founder and Director at Cordis Asset Management Pty Ltd and is a Co-Founder and Director of Brelllah/Movement HQ an integrated Healthcare business in Sydney. He has been a Senior Advisor to The Boston Consulting Group in Australia and is a Senior Advisor to McKinsey’s in New York.
