About Me
Dr. Michael Shapiro is Clinical Instructor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon, a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, and his medical degree from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine. Dr. Shapiro did his dermatology residency training at the renowned University of Pennsylvania Health System, and completed two fellowships, one incutaneous T-cell lymphoma with Alain H. Rook, MD, at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, and the second in Mohs micrographic surgery at the University of Colorado with J.Ramsey Mellette, MD.
Dr. Shapiro has over 10 years of experience performing Mohs surgery and has treated over 12,000 cases. He is also widely published in the field of dermatology with over 30 manuscripts and letters to the editor in prominent peer-reviewed academic journals, as well as several book chapters.
