Michael Dolinger, MD

Michael Dolinger, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine and Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital.

Dr. Dolinger received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and completed his pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in Long Island, New York, where he then served as chief resident of pediatrics. He completed his clinical fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he also served as the first pediatric chief fellow for the department of pediatrics. After completion of his clinical fellowship, he completed his advanced inflammatory bowel disease fellowship at Icahn Mount Sinai before beginning as assistant professor of pediatrics and associate fellowship program director in the division of pediatric gastroenterology. During his fellowship training, Dr. Dolinger became the first gastroenterology fellow in the United States to be trained and certified to perform intestinal ultrasound for inflammatory bowel disease activity monitoring.

Dr. Dolingers primary research focus focuses on the use of intestinal ultrasound as a novel, non-invasive tool to monitor inflammatory bowel disease activity and treatment response in order to improve outcomes and enhance shared understanding.

Dr. Dolinger leads the Henry and Elaine Kaufman intestinal ultrasound program at the Susan and Leonard Feinstein Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center, the first of its kind in the United States. His other research interests include safety and efficacy, and sequencing of advanced therapies in children with inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Dolinger has lectured widely both nationally and internationally and has published in peer reviewed journals including Gastroenterology, the American Journal of Gastroenterology,  Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, the Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis, and the Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He is the co-founder of the Intestinal Ultrasound group of Canada and North America (iUSCAN), currently serves on the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition Inflammatory Bowel Disease Committee and the Pediatric, Artificial Intelligence Committees of the International Bowel Ultrasound Group, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases journal editorial board.
