About Me

Michelle Tran, PhD is a current 7th-year MD/PhD student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Tran completed a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in Cancer Immunology in 2024. Her research focuses on myeloid cell-mediated resistance to immunotherapy in bladder cancer, resulting in publications and awards including the NIH F30 Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral NRSA Fellowship and Young Investigator Awards from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) and American Association of Immunologists (AAI). At Mount Sinai, Michelle helped lead several student organizations including the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) and Women in Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) chapters. Beyond her work at Mount Sinai, she is recognized for her leadership and community service, earning national honors such as the L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth Award and CNN Heroes features. Combining a passion for cutting-edge research, education, and service, Michelle is dedicated to advancing cancer immunotherapy and serving patients from all backgrounds.
