Michelle Bo Mi Liu, MD
Neurology
About Me
Michelle Liu, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Liu earned her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College. She completed her internship and a residency in neurology at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Liu then went on to complete an interventional Pain Medicine fellowship, under the department of Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where she served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Liu is board certified in Neurology and Pain Medicine.
As 1 of only 300 practicing physicians board certified in both Neurology and Pain Medicine, she enjoys bringing together her background knowledge in Neurology to diagnose patients in pain. This allows her to really hone in on the appropriate treatments for pain management.
She speaks Korean and English with native proficiency.
The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page. This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Liu did not report having any of the following types of financial relationships with industry and other outside entities during 2024 and/or 2025: consulting, scientific advisory board, industry-sponsored lectures, service on Board of Directors, participation on industry-sponsored committees, equity ownership valued at greater than 5% of a publicly traded company or any value in a privately held company. Please note that this information may differ from information posted on corporate sites due to timing or classification differences.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
