About Me
I am currently a tenured professor and the Vice Chair for Oncological Pathology, Director of Urological Pathology Service and Fellowship Program, Department of Pathology, Molecular and Cell-based Medicine, Mount Sinai Hospital and Icahn School of Medicine in New York City. I graduated summa cum laude from Fudan University Medical School in Shanghai, China. I completed my pathology residency training at the University of Michigan and a fellowship in the Urological and Kidney Diseases at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. I have served faculty and administrative roles at Cleveland Clinic, New York University, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, and Tufts University School of Medicine, where I served as Chair and Pathologist-in-Chief from 2019 to 2024.
Recognized nationally and internationally as a leading authority in urological pathology, I have authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles and 116 review articles and book chapters, and co-edited 5 textbooks of urological and prostate pathology, including the AFIP prostate fascicle. Three of these books are in 2nd edition. I also guest edited 2 journal issues on urological pathology. I frequently lectures at national and international meetings on urological pathology. I was the speaker at the California tumor tissue registry meetings in 2014 and 2022, and the co-course director of the prostate cancer long course at the 2018 USCAP annual meeting. My professional service includes election to the Board of Directors of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology and serving as President of the Genitourinary Pathology Society, an international organization for urological pathologists.
