Mirhadi Arash Kia, MD

About Me

Arash Kia M.D. , M.Sc. is an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the director of Clinical Data Science at Mount Sinai Health System with strong passion for clinical innovation and translational research. He earned his MD from Iran university of Medical Sciences and his M.Sc. in Computational Neuroscience from Western University.   The clinical data science team builds and operationalizes Machine Learning solutions to optimize clinical effectiveness and improve patient safety in different clinical service lines in MSHS.

His team developed  and operationalized wide range of machine learning applications to stratify risk of clinical deterioration , delirium, ICU transfer, aggression,  and metastasis in different clinical settings. His Research interests lie at the intersection of Peri-operative/Pain Medicine , EMR Data Processing, Multi-modality deep learning including image classification (PyTorch and TensorFlow), natural language processing (NLP) and waveform classification(PyTorch), and clinical implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.
