About Me
Dr. Miriam Chung is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, and holds leadership roles in the division as Clinical Director of the Glomerular Diseases Program, Associate Clinical Director for the Division of Nephrology, and Associate Director for the Nephrology Fellowship.
Dr. Chung earned her medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed her residency at Yale, where she served as Chief Resident. She then completed a Nephrology fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell and additional specialized fellowship in Glomerular Diseases at Columbia University. Before joining Mount Sinai in 2017, she was a nephrologist at the Rogosin Institute and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine.
Her clinical expertise focuses on glomerular diseases, including IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, vasculitis, nephrotic syndrome, etc. Dr. Chung is deeply committed to medical education and has received multiple teaching awards, including the J. James Smith Teaching Award from Cornell Medicine housestaff and Mount Sinai’s Teaching Attending of the Year Award from nephrology fellows for three consecutive years.
