About Me
Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic is a leader in the field of urogenital reconstructive surgery. He is one of the few urologists in the world to encompass treatment of all anomalies of the genital system regardless of gender or age, providing new knowledge of the surgical anatomy of the male and female genitalia. Since 1992, Dr. Djordjevic has performed over 2,000 transgender cases: 600 Male to Female vaginoplasties, 900 Female to Male metoidioplasties, 300 Female to Male phalloplasties, and 200 redo transgender cases.
Dr. Djordjevic joins us from the Belgrade Center for Genital Reconstructive Surgery, located in Serbia. He graduated medical school and did his residency and fellowship training at Belgrade University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Djordjevic’s fellowship resulted in him becoming a Board Certified Subspecialist in Pediatric Urology. He received his PhD based on a thesis of “A new approach for surgical treatment of Peyronie's disease.” Dr. Djordjevic is a Professor of Urology and Surgery at the School of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
Dr. Djordjevic is the President of the Society for Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS). He is also a member of other urological and surgical associations, including the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the American Urological Association (AUA), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He has also received numerous research awards and honors, including awards given by the European Association of Urology, the German Urological Association, and the European Society for Sexual Medicine.
Professor Djordjevic has been an invited lecturer and visiting professor at many universities around the world. He is also the founder and leader of the Belgrade Center for Genital Reconstructive Surgery, a fellowship program center chosen by 20-30 international colleagues every year.
