About Me
Mohamed Elshorafa, MD is an Assistant Professor of Child Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology. Dr. Elshorafa received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from the University of California in Los Angeles and his medical degree from St. George’s University, School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Medicine followed by a fellowship in Child Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Headache Medicine at ISMMS's Center for Headache and Pain Medicine.
Dr. Elshorafa has clinical practices at ISSMS's Center for Headache and Pain Medicine as well as Elmhurst Hospital Center Pediatric Specialty Clinic. Dr. Elshorafa has a special interest in Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Concussive Syndrome and the goal of bringing more attention, education and individualized care to this unique population. Dr. Elshorafa is proficient in administering botulinum toxin injections for migraine, nerve blocks, sphenopalatine ganglion blocks, and trigger point injections.
