Mon-Wei (Sam) Yu, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist and internist. He is a graduate of National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan, where he received his MD. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He subsequently completed his general nephrology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston. Dr. Yu joined the Division of Nephrology at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2020. Dr. Yu sees patients with all kidney diseases, with a particular focus on glomerulonephritis and genetic kidney diseases. Apart from clinical care, Dr. Yu is currently conducting basic research projects to understand complement-mediated kidney diseases by various models, including human 3D kidney organoids.
