Monica Sethi, MD

About Me

Monica Sethi, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine.  She is an attending physician in Emergency Medicine at The Mount Sinai Hospital and Director of Scholarly Tracks for the MSH Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Her interests include clinical Emergency Medicine, residency education with a focus on procedural teaching, and departmental operations. Dr. Sethi also has experience in clinical outcomes research, and has authored several peer reviewed publications on the subjects of trauma, critical care, and surgical outcomes. Nationally, Dr. Sethi is a member of the Emergency Medicine Practice Committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Dr. Sethi earned her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and her undergraduate degree from Columbia College. After medical school, Dr. Sethi completed three years of General Surgery residency at NYU Langone Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital, as well as a research fellowship in the NYU Langone Division of Bariatric Surgery. She shifted her clinical focus from Surgery to Emergency Medicine, and completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Mount Sinai and Elmhurst Hospitals in 2020, including a year as Chief Resident.
