About Me
Morgan Bowling, DO, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine and attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Bowling completed her residency in Pediatrics in 2019 and fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine in 2022 both at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. Prior to graduating from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016, Dr. Bowling taught elementary school in Baltimore, Maryland through Teach For America. Her work in Santiago, Chile and subsequently in Lima and Trujillo, Peru working in immigrant health and emergency care ignited her passion for health equity in the global health arena. Dr. Bowling also has conducted longitudinal work in South Africa, conducting clinical and epidemiologic research on the status of HPV/cervical cancer in university students. She was among one of only four recipients of the AMPATH Nepal 2023 Nepal Pilot Project for her work, Global IMPACT (Improving Emergency Medical Preparedness And Childhood Treatments) through the Arnhold Institute of Global Health at Mount Sinai. Dr. Bowling and her team recently returned from Dhulikhel Hospital in Nepal after training providers in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and conducting several days of in-situ simulation. After recognizing what a success these sessions were, she and her team are even more committed to the AMPATH Nepal Partnership and hope to develop the first ever Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship in the country.
