Nadine Kaskas, MD, is a board certified dermatologist who provides comprehensive medical and cosmetic dermatologic care to patients of all ages and skin types. She is passionate about providing the highest quality care with a focus on achieving the best results while addressing all of your skin concerns with compassion and attention to detail. Dr. Kaskas is Site Medical Director, Mount Sinai Downtown, in the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Kaskas grew up in sunny Shreveport, Louisiana, where she enjoyed the best crawfish and pralines. She double majored at Centenary College of Louisiana on a full academic scholarship, graduating cum laude with a B.S. in Biology and Philosophy.
She graduated from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport with Distinction in Research, where she founded the American Medical Student
Research Journal and "Empathy in Medicine: The Good Doctor" elective.She received numerous national awards, including the American Medical Association Foundation Excellence in Medicine Leadership Award as well as first place in Cancer Biology at the 11th Annual American Medical Association Research Symposium.
She completed a preliminary year of internal medicine training at LSU Baton Rouge prior to dermatology residency at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. During her training, she volunteered as the physician coordinator for the Rhode Island Hospital free skin cancer screenings as well as the Brown liaison for the Women's Dermatologic Society and received the American Academy of Dermatology International Society Travel Grant.
In addition to her passion for clinical dermatology, volunteering, and teaching, Dr. Kaskas has a strong interest in advancing the field of dermatology through research. She has over 20 publications, including a book chapter and journal articles, and has spoken at national dermatology conferences.
In her spare time, she works as the Co-founder of Dermatology Relief, a service organization whose mission is to improve the skin health of those living in refugee and crisis settings. Derm Relief is a teledermatology platform that connects local medical providers to US-based dermatologists to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease.
