About Me

Dr. Nanci Pittman joined the Mount Sinai community in 1989 when she began her Pediatric Internship and Pediatric Residency. Upon completion, she continued her training in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology as a fellow in the division. In 1992, she became a member of the Department of Pediatrics as an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Since then, Dr. Pittman has cared for many children with GI issues from throughout the tri-state area. Although, she cares for children with a wide variety of GI conditions, she has focused her practice on the care of children with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She works along with a team of professionals who together, aim to provide excellent care to children with IBD.

Before arriving to Mount Sinai, Dr. Pittman attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where she received a BA in chemistry and psychology. She later obtained her MD degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated with honors.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Industry Relationships

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.

Dr. Pittman has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.

Mount Sinai's faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
