Dr. Nanette B. Silverberg is Chief of Pediatric Dermatology for the Mount Sinai Health System within the Kimberly and Eric J. Waldman Department of Dermatology and Site Director of Pediatric and Adolescent Dermatology for the Departments of Dermatology at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Silverberg is a clinical professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and formerly clinical professor of dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Silverberg is a Summa Cum Laude graduate with commendation in research from the SUNY Downstate Medical School and trained in Pediatrics and Dermatology at SUNY Downstate as well. After completion of a Chief Residency year in dermatology, she went on to train in pediatric dermatology at the Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago of the Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Silverberg has almost two decades of clinical experience and has published widely and performed research on a variety of important dermatologic topics that affect children including inflammatory skin disorders such as atopic dermatitis, vitiligo and psoriasis; as well, she has published extensively on the therapy of molluscum and warts. Dr. Silverberg is a Senior Associate Editor of the journal Cutis, has chaired plenary sessions and has published an atlas and textbook on the topics of pediatric skin disease in children of all colors. Dr. Silverberg has received numerous awards including honor society memberships and election to the Board of the American Academy of Pediatrics subsection on dermatology.

The focus of Dr. Silverberg’s clinical work has been on the topic of pediatric skin disease. Dr. Silverberg has published over 200 articles, with more than a dozen articles and chapters on the topic of pediatric vitiligo. Dr. Silverberg was cited as one of the top ten young vitiligo practitioners in the country at a recent plenary lecture on the topic of vitiligo at the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Silverberg sits on the board of Vitiligo Support International and runs a vitiligo support group that meets periodically at Mount Sinai West. As well, Dr. Silverberg focuses her research work on atopic dermatitis publishing extensively on therapeutics of childhood eczema. Dr. Silverberg conducts epicutaneous allergy screening in her office for children and adults, and has published on the relationship of contact allergy and atopic dermatitis. Dr. Silverberg sees patients in private practice at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
