About Me
Neha Goel, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine, Department of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). She graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Biomedical Engineering, and then obtained her MD degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2012. Dr. Goel completed her categorical internal medicine residency at ISMMS, enrolling in the healthcare leadership track during which she focused on health care delivery science and quality improvement initiatives with local implementation. Dr. Goel's areas of interests include improving the ED-ICU interface and improving critical care delivery and outcomes of patients with sepsis and ARDS in the ED. She serves as part of the Mount Sinai site research team for the NIH/NHBLI-funded PETAL Clinical Trials Network and is actively collaborating on a multicenter observational study within the SCCM Discovery Network. She completed her Master's in Clinical Research and the ISMMS Emergency Medicine T32 Program in 2019 studying critical care delivery in the ED setting. Her research and clinical focus is on critical care delivery in noncritical care settings. The topics include respiratory failure, timing of initiation of invasive mechanical ventilation, resuscitation and management of ARDS and sepsis, and physiology of breathing during critical illness that can lead to lung injury.
