About Me
Dr. Neha Shaik is a fellowship trained board-certified Ophthalmologist specializing in Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Having trained at Bascom Palmer Eye institute at the University of Miami and SUNY - Downstate Medical Center, she has accumulated a lot of expertise in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery which she now brings to each patient.
As an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and a full-time faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE), Dr. Shaik is actively involved in resident and fellow education with research focus on full and partial thickness Corneal transplantations (PKP/DSEK/DMEK), Ocular Surface Diseases and Reconstruction, standard and state-of-the-art Femtosecond Laser-Assisted Cataract surgery, and Laser vision correction (PRK/LASIK).
She has written several articles and book chapters. She has presented her work on pterygium recurrence at major ophthalmology meetings. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Cornea Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).

Dr. Shaik graduated with Summa cum laude from CUNY- Brooklyn College (B.S in Biology) and received her medical degree (M.D.) from State University of New York (SUNY) - Downstate College of Medicine with Magna cum laude. She received numerous awards and scholarships for her academic excellence in medical school.
Dr. Shaik is compassionate and committed to provide excellent care for her patients. She takes the time to listen and understand unique needs of each patient and brings her expertise, compassion, and empathy to develop a plan for successful recovery. She is accepting new patients at her Mineola office (Long Island), Mount Sinai Faculty practice (Upper East Side) in Manhattan, as well as in Midwood office, Brooklyn.
Dr. Shaik is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and English and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, playing tennis and spending time with her friends and family.
