About Me
Dr. Nigel Kennedy MBBS, PhD completed his preclinical and early clinical training in the United Kingdom, achieving a Masters in Neuroscience from the University of Manchester and a PhD in Neurogenetics from Imperial College London before completing his medical training at St George’s, University of London.
After moving to the US, Dr. Kennedy completed his residency training in Psychiatry here at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on the Physician-Scientist track, researching transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) as a treatment for auditory hallucinations. After graduating as Chief Resident for Research, Dr. Kennedy became an Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University, concurrently performing clinical work for the New York State Office of Mental Health. Dr. Kennedy returned to Mount Sinai as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry where he currently serves as an attending inpatient psychiatrist in addition to treating general adult patients through the Faculty Practice Associates clinic.
