Nilsson Holguin, PhD
About Me
Dr. Holguin is Assistant Professor in the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedics and a Biomedical Laureate at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Dr. Holguin joined Mount Sinai in 2022 to promote translational spine research and serves as the Director of the MicroCT Core. Dr. Holguin was a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and an adjunct in the Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology and Physiology at Indiana University. Dr. Holguin completed his post-doctoral training and was a Research Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. He earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Stony Brook University and his B.S. in Engineering at Trinity College. Dr. Holguin serves as Chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Committee for the American Society of Bone and Mineral research (ASBMR) and a Section Officer for the Orthopaedic Research Society (ORS) Spine Section.
