About Me
Dr. Nina Kukar joined the Mount Sinai West faculty in September 2015 as the Director of Cardiac MRI and went on to become the Director of Cardiovascular Imaging at Mount Sinai West in 2019. Her clinical interests and areas of expertise are in multimodality imaging and preventive cardiology. She is Level 3 certified in Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI, and echocardiography. Dr. Kukar is also the Director of Women's Heart at Mount Sinai West and has launched fundraisers and community programs to raise awareness to prevent women's heart disease. She has a strong interest in medical education and is the co-program director of the Advanced Cardiac Imaging fellowship at Mount Sinai West. Her research interests are in the field of multimodality imaging. Over the years, she has published many articles in prestigious journals and presented abstracts and posters at major academic conferences.
Dr. Nina Kukar obtained her BA from Columbia University, graduating with honors, and then completed her MD from SUNY Downstate. She went on to Internal Medicine residency at George Washington University, Cardiology fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital, and Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
