About Me
Nyein Nyein Thaw Dar, MD, MS specializes in the care and management of patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers and benign hematology conditions. She is a dedicated physician with a broad background spanning clinical care, basic science research, translational research, clinical research, and medical education.
Dr. Thaw Dar completed her residency training at Harlem Hospital Center, affiliated with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, and she completed her hematology/oncology fellowship training at Memorial Healthcare System, Florida.
She believes in collaborating closely with patients and their families to understand their needs, explain treatment options clearly, and support them through every step of care. Outside of her clinical work, Dr. Thaw Dar is actively involved in clinical research. Her main academic interests are in the translational and clinical investigation of new therapy in cancer, to help bring new knowledge and better treatments to her patients.
Driven by a commitment to patient-centered medicine and lifelong learning, Dr. Thar Dar strives to integrate clinical excellence with a thoughtful, research-informed approach to improve outcomes for every patient.
