About Me
Nyonnoweh Greene, MD is a Board Certified Family Medicine physician. She provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, from birth through the end of life. Dr. Greene practices and serves as the Medical Director for Mount Sinai Doctors 2875 Broadway in Manhattan.
Dr. Greene is of Liberian heritage, raised in Austin,Texas, she moved to New York City to attend Columbia College. She received her medical degree from the University of California at Davis. She completed her family medicine residency at Dignity Hospital, a community hospital in Sacramento, California. She became a Diplomat of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine in 2013. Prior to medical school she worked as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist, providing bodywork and nutritional counseling as well as teaching yoga. In recent years, she practiced medicine as a partner with Sutter Medical Group in Northern California. While there, she served as a physician wellness coordinator, promoting work life balance in this multispecialty group practice. In 2020, she was the founding chair of the physician-led Race, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force which promoted physician involvement in the movement toward health equity for all.
Dr. Greene believes in treating the whole person, and that the best medicine is a healthy lifestyle. She incorporates her knowledge of herbology, nutrition, and yoga with her allopathic medical training to help patients optimize their health. She has a special interest in using diet and activity to prevent and treat diabetes and cardiovascular disorders.
