Omar Al Dhaybi, MD

"Dr. Omar Al Dhaybi is a certified hypertension specialist and Director of the American Heart Association (AHA) Comprehensive Hypertension Center at the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital. A nephrologist by training, Dr. Dhaybi completed a dedicated hypertension fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. George Bakris at the University of Chicago. Dr. Dhaybi is actively engaged in Hypertension clinical trials, scholarly education, and advancing clinical care, research, and knowledge in Hypertension in partnership with the American Heart Association.

Dr. Dhaybi has expertise in 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and in renal denervation, a novel procedure to lower blood pressure. His practice focuses on treating adult patients with hard-to-treat/resistant hypertension, as well as patients with secondary causes of hypertension, such as hypertension in patients with primary hyperaldosteronism, renovascular hypertension, pheochromocytomas/paragangliomas and chronic kidney disease/dialysis. He also specializes in treating dysautonomias/Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and blood pressure disorders in autonomic dysfunction in general, as well as hypertension in pregnancy (severe preeclampsia) and in the elderly (isolated systolic hypertension). He holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai."
