About Me

Dr. Parasuram Melarcode Krishnamoorthy is the Assistant Director of Structural Heart Program and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Heart,  Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute. Dr. Krishnamoorthy earned his medical degree from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Perundurai Medical College in India. He completed internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where he served as a chief resident. Dr. Krishnamoorthy won several awards during his residency including PGY1 best intern award, PGY2 resident leadership award and department of Medicine excellence in Critical Care Medicine award. He went on to complete a cardiology fellowship at the Einstein Medical Center, where he served as a chief fellow. He received the department of Medicine best fellow award during his fellowship. He then joined the Mount Sinai hospital in 2018 for advanced training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease interventions. He was nominated as the fellow of the year during his interventional cardiology training.

 Dr. Krishnamoorthy is an interventional cardiologist with specialized clinical focus in percutaneous coronary interventions and structural heart disease interventions, particularly transcatheter aortic valve therapy and percutaneous mitral valve repair.  He is actively involved in clinical research. He has co-authored over 75 peer reviewed manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters and presented at numerous national and international conferences. He was awarded the Dr. Madhukar Deshmukh Young Investigator award by the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin. He is interested in epidemiology and outcomes research. His current focus is on utilizing digital technology to improve outcomes in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.
