Payal S Patel, MD

About Me

Dr. Payal Patel is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinaio. Dr. Patel received her B.S. degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005, where she was awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship that same year.  She subsequently received her M.D. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2009.  During medical school Dr. Patel was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, earned the A.D. Williams Award for being ranked first in her class, and was the recipient of an AMA Foundation Scholars Fund award. 

Dr. Patel is interested in all facets of dermatology including medical, surgical and cosmetic surgery.  She presented two posters at the 2013 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology on a rare case of acral pseudolymphomatous angiokeratoma of the abdomen and another on perineal ulcerations heralding Crohn’s disease in a child.  In 2012, she presented a poster at the annual Medicine Resident & Fellow Research Symposium on cutaneous granulomatous reaction from mercury.
