About Me
Peter Liu, MD, (he/him) is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai – Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Liu completed Internal Medicine residency and chief residency at the University of Virginia followed by fellowship in Infectious Disease at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Liu has as longstanding interest and commitment to medical education. In addition to clinical training in Infectious Disease, he also completed fellowship training in medical education. Prior to joining Mount Sinai, he served as a course director at both the Undergraduate and Graduate Medical Education level and was a core faculty member in the Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Liu currently serves as the Infectious Disease fellowship program director at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai – Mount Sinai Hospital. In the clinical setting, he regularly provides consultative care for hospitalized patients with a broad array of infections on the General Infectious Disease consult service. Additionally, Dr. Liu provides specialized outpatient care with an emphasis on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infections.
