About Me
Dr. Peter Shearer has been in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine for 15 years; from 2006-2013 he was the Program Director if the Mount Sinai Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Under Dr. Shearer the program grew to a four year training program with 60 residents. He has brought change to the program by adding more critical care focus, progressive responsibility, and innovative rotations in medical education and a senior specialty track. He was also responsible for developing an innovative resident program in Quality Management. In 2013 he became the Associate Director of the Mount Sinai Emergency Department with a focus on Quality Management and Performance Improvement. He also serves as the Medical Director for the Mount Sinai Medical Center Sexual Assault and Forensic Examiner program
