About Me
Philip Fairweather, MD, FACEP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine. He attended Wesleyan University and received his MD from Weill Cornell Medical School. He has been an attending physician at the NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst Emergency Department since 1995. From 1995 to 2002 he served as Emergency Medicine Residency Site Director at Elmhurst. In 2002, Dr. Fairweather transitioned to his current role in ED clinical operations. In his role Emergency Department, Dr. Fairweather is involved in all aspects of ED operations with specific responsibility for physician scheduling and issues related to ED finance. In September 2018, he became the Medical Director of urgent care services ("ExpressCare") at Elmhurst specifically responsible for physician staffing, quality assurance, and community outreach and engagement.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs.
