
Pratibha Vemulapalli, MD
About Me
Board-certified in general surgery, Dr. Vemulapalli is currently a Clinical Professor of Surgery at Mount Sinai. In addition, she is the Chair of Surgery and Physician Services at Brooklyn Hospital. She previously served as Director of Bariatric Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and Director of Perioperative Services at Montefiore Bronx Hospitals and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. She completed her surgical residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she was a research fellow post-residency. She further went on to complete an advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, in the Bronx. Her area of clinical focus is: bariatric surgery, laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, general surgery, hernia and colorectal surgery, robotic surgery and advanced minimally invasive surgery.
