About Me
Priya Deshpande, MD is a board-certified nephrologist at Mount Sinai Doctors, seeing patients on Wednesdays in Brooklyn Heights. Trained in New York, she is certified in Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American Society of Nephrology. She was awarded her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her fellowship in Nephrology at the Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Deshpande has also given back to the community through her previous work with Doctors for Global Health and the American Medical Association. In 2010, she received Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s Leo Davidoff Award for outstanding achievement in the teaching of medical students.
Dr. Deshpande is particularly interested in renal conditions related to cancer or as a result of chemotherapies (“onconephrology”). She and her colleague Dr. Matthew Abramson are developing an onconephrology program geared to specifically treating cancer patients who have renal disease, proteinuria, electrolyte abnormalities and hypertension.
