About Me
Dr. Raman Sharma joined the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant Director of Endovascular Intervention Program at Mount Sinai Hospital, specializing in Endovascular Interventions on July 1st , 2021. Dr. Sharma earned his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and then his residency in Internal Medicine and General Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship in the following years. Dr. Sharma remained at Mount Sinai where he continued his advanced training in Intervention Cardiology, where he served as Chief Fellow and then completed an advanced fellowship in Endovascular Interventions. Dr. Sharma is both an Interventional and Endovascular Cardiologist with specialized focuses in complex percutaneous coronary interventions and peripheral arterial and venous disease, particularly with aortoiliac, lower extremity, carotid and renal revascularization. He is actively involved with clinical research and has numerous co-authored peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, book chapters, in addition to national and international conference presentations. He is interested in outcomes research, particularly the role of antiplatelet and direct oral anticoagulants in improving outcomes for peripheral artery revascularization.
