About Me

Dr. Gowda is a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist, as well as an Endovascular and Comprehensive Vein Specialist at Mount Sinai Health Partners. He is a full-time faculty and Associate Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, member of Mount Sinai Heart Network, and Director of Endovascular Services, and Associate Director of Interventional Cardiology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital. He completed his residency training at Long Island College Hospital - SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Beth Israel - LICH Program and advanced training in Interventional Cardiology at Beth Israel Medical Center - Albert Einstein COM. He is board certified in Cardiovascular disease, Interventional Cardiology and Endovascular Medicine.   Dr. Gowda provides non-invasive, diagnostic and interventional services for all areas of cardiovascular disease.  His expertise is in minimally invasive, non-surgical therapies for these complex disease states. He is gaining great respect among his colleagues who refer the majority of his nearly 1,000 procedures annually since 2005. These procedures include, but are not limited to: coronary, carotid and peripheral angiography, complex coronary and peripheral arterial interventions,  deep vein interventions, abdominal aneurysm stent-grafts, superficial vein therapy, limb salvage, carotid artery stenting, DVT management, loop recorder implantation, and pericardiocentesis.    Dr. Gowda also specializes in the care of patients with acute cardiac and vascular disease. Many times he offers less invasive options to patients rather than open surgery for cardiovascular disease. Because of this, he is often used as a second opinion in very complex cases. His goal is to improve outcomes for the sickest patients through integration of clinical physiology, imaging, invasive diagnostics and therapeutics, and comprehensive cardiovascular care.  He works tirelessly to educate and train young physicians in the techniques of cardiovascular interventional therapy. He has published numerous articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and given presentations in local, regional, national, international meetings.
