
Randal A Serafini
About Me
Randal is originally from Sunnyvale, CA and completed a BS/MS in Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins prior to matriculating to Mount Sinai. He completed his PhD in Neuroscience at the Zachariou Lab, where he investigated molecular mechanisms underlying acute and chronic pain in rodent models. Prior to returning to medical school, Randal completed an MHA at Mount Sinai and worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Zachariou Lab at Boston University.
Outside of academic endeavors, Randal works on developing private technologies that increase access to healthcare, in fields such as wound/pain management and ophthalmic testing. He also serves on executive and policy committees for organizations including ASPET and APSA.
