About Me
Reem Aoun, MD, is a graduate of the American University of Beirut. She trained in internal medicine at Saint Louis University. She practiced for two years at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia before joining the Mount Sinai Hospital in August 2020. Dr. Aoun specializes in hospitalized patients' general medical care, and she is currently pursuing higher education in healthcare quality & safety.
	Dr. Aoun's approach combines evidence-based and personalized medicine. She is a strong advocate for patient empowerment and a patient-centered multidisciplinary management plan. She is incredibly attentive to elderly patients' needs and promotes a humanistic approach to delirium in the hospital setting.
	
	Dr. Aoun is committed to clinical education and teaching medical residents. She attended international workshops and conferences to enhance her teaching skills. She believes that healthcare delivery is a process that improves through continuous learning and well-coordinated teamwork.
	Dr. Aoun recently received the Teacher of the Year award in 2020 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Dr. Aoun plans to dedicate her time to redesign the current healthcare system to maximize clinical outcomes without compromising cost or efficiency. Her specific interest includes reducing diagnostic errors in healthcare, minimizing physician burnout, and advancing gender equity in medicine.
