About Me

Dr. Richard Teter is a podiatrist who practices at Mount Sinai Doctors - Brooklyn Heights, with special interests in Sports Medicine and Biomechanics. Dr. Teter grew up in Ohio and graduated from college with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Bioengineering. He received his postgraduate education from Temple University, where he earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree. Following this, he completed a comprehensive three-year residency at Lenox Hill Hospital (New York, NY), with an added credential in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Teter has had the privilege of treating a diverse range of patients, including professional athletes, Broadway performers, and professional ballet dancers. His expertise encompasses various procedures and surgeries of the foot and ankle.
An avid runner himself, Dr. Teter has participated in numerous races of all distances, including marathons, and continues to train on a regular basis. He holds a running coach certification from the Road Runners Club of America and remains committed to ongoing education to provide the best care for his patients. Additionally, he volunteers in the medical tent at various races, including the New York City Marathon.
Apart from his professional commitments, Dr. Teter is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys road biking, hiking, and backpacking trips. He is dedicated to keeping his patients on their feet so they can continue to do what they enjoy and love.
