About Me
Dr. Rima Patel is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology and a member of the Breast Cancer Medical Oncology Program.
Dr. Patel earned her MD from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She did her residency training in Internal Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and completed her fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, serving as Chief Fellow in her last year. Dr. Patel's research interests are focused on improving treatment of breast cancer, both by introducing novel therapies and reducing treatment toxicity. She has published several articles in breast cancer and is designing clinical trials in the area.
Dr. Patel's clinical practice focuses on caring for patients with breast cancer as well as chemoprevention strategies for patients at high risk of breast cancer. She has a special interest in caring for older patients with breast cancer and serves as the Medical Director for Breast Geriatric Oncology. Dr. Patel collaborates closely with nursing, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, and pathology teams to provide the highest level of care for patients. She also recognizes that a cancer diagnosis is a challenging time and seeks to provide comprehensive support to her patients, encompassing not only the finest treatments, but also by addressing their emotional well-being. Dr. Patel sees patients at the Dubin Breast Center and The Blavatnik Family Chelsea Medical Center.
