About Me
Dr. Anvekar, is a Board Certified Dermatologist, who will serve an important role in our department as a general dermatologist, clinical researcher and clinical educator at both our Mount Sinai Dermatology and Mount Sinai Queens faculty practices. Her clinical interests include acne, eczema, psoriasis, total body skin checks and skin cancer. Dr. Anvekar completed her residency from Mt. Sinai Hospital and was the Chief Resident prior to graduation. During her graduation she has excelled in academics and has been the recipient of several honors and scholarships including Salaskar Award for securing the highest marks in Diploma in Pathology and Bacteriology. She has maintained as strong interest in academics and has several publications and paper presentations. She has pursued basic research centered on uncovering why melanomas are bullet proof to diverse chemotherapeutic agents and a strategy to improve the response in these tumors and expression of Braf mutations using immunohistochemistry. Her goal is to enable patients maintain healthy skin by providing preventative counselling, total body checks and cutting edge treatment options. She is committed to compassionate, community-oriented patient care and has a passion for resident education.
