Robert L Warner, MD
Dermatology
About Me
Dr. Robert Warner has been an active participant in the education and training of our residents and medical students for the past 27 years having graduated from our dermatology residency program in 1981. During this time he has been among our most active voluntary faculty training scores of residents, fellows and medical students in our outpatient clinics. While Dr. Warner mainly practices general dermatology with adults, he also sees pediatric patients and performs cosmetic procedures. In fact, he was in the forefront of this subspecialty, doing pioneering work in cosmetic dermatology. His work laid a foundation for other dermatologists who wanted to pursue careers in cosmetic dermatology, and it is fair to state that Dr. Warner played a key role in the development of this subspecialty. First as a Clinical Instructor and then as an Assistant Clinical Professor, Dr. Warner has taught numerous individuals for the more than two decades he’s been with the Department and has done so with clarity, creativity and enthusiasm. He is a capable clinician, astute teacher and a superb role model for our residents and medical students in compassionate patient care. Dr. Warner is simply one of our most important voluntary faculty members and his participation in our adult and pediatric clinics has been invaluable.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities with residents, fellows and medical students, he is always teaching his colleagues through his participation in Grand Rounds. His clinical observations, which are backed by extensive citations from leading dermatology journals, are highly regarded. His erudition brings a depth to the discussion of our complicated cases and often sheds lights on the correct differential diagnosis.
Dr. Warner is also very active in both local and national dermatology organizations and societies and I have attended many meetings with him. He consistently brings back a wealth of information from these activities which he then shares with our residents and medical students. Coupled with his exhaustive reading of dermatology journals, his attendance at these dermatology meetings keeps him current on changes in our rapidly evolving field.
