About Me
Roopa Avula, MD is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Richmond University Medical Center (RUMC). She is a lifelong New Yorker, proud to be serving her hometown community in Staten Island. Dr. Avula graduated from WVU School of Medicine with an M.D. and went on to complete residency at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was also Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine. Her top priority as a clinician is patient centered care. She is also the proud mother of two, and stands for women in medicine, especially women of color, diversity/equity/inclusion, and resident and physician wellness.
