About Me
Dr. Sammita Satyanarayan is a neurology board-certified assistant professor in Multiple Sclerosis and neuro-immunology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After graduating with undergraduate degrees in Biology and Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Satyanarayan received her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her neurology residency training at Stanford University, where she was selected as the education co-chief resident in her final year. Dr. Satyanarayan was a National MS Society Clinical Care Fellow at Mount Sinai, where she completed a two-year fellowship specializing in Multiple Sclerosis and other neuro-immunological disorders such as NMOSD and MOGAD. During this time, she also completed a Master's in Clinical Research at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and was selected to be a NeuroNext Clinical Trials fellow as a faculty member to receiving ongoing training in building research opportunities for neuro-immunological disease. Dr. Satyanarayan's research interests include evaluating immunological responses to vaccinations in patients receiving MS disease-modifying therapies, and better understanding clinical metrics of defining and predicting progressive disease in MS patients. Dr. Satyanarayan has a strong interest in understanding the impact of social determinants of health in patients living with neuroimmunological disorders. She currently has a grant from the SRNA foundation to study this topic in relation to disability in patients living with NMOSD.
Dr. Satyanarayan currently practices at Mount Sinai in Union Square and the uptown Mount Sinai location.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
