About Me
Samuel Sondheim, MD MBA, (He/Him) is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Assistant Medical Director for the Mount Sinai Morningside Emergency Department. Dr. Sondheim also serves as EMS and Disaster Medicine Scholarly Track co-leader for the Mount Sinai Emergency Medicine residency program and has led multiple initiatives including overseeing the Mount Sinai ED influenza vaccination initiative.
Dr. Sondheim focuses on the intersection of prehospital care, disaster preparedness and healthcare leadership and operations. He has published and presented original research focused within emergency department operations, disaster preparedness, and prehospital care. Dr. Sondheim is involved at the national and state levels, serving on multiple national committees including as the Chair of the SAEM Disaster Medicine group, and a member of the New York State EMS Council Innovations and Research Committee. He was awarded the NY ACEP Young Leadership Award in 2024.
Dr. Sondheim completed a dual degree MD/MBA at Quinnipiac University in Connecticut followed by residency training at Mount Sinai Morningside/Mount Sinai West where he served as Chief Resident. He further completed a combined fellowship in Disaster Preparedness and Healthcare Leadership at Mount Sinai Morningside/Mount Sinai West.
The state of Florida requires out-of-state professionals who are registered to provide telehealth services to display a hyperlink to the Florida Department of Health telehealth web page. This allows Florida patients who are receiving medical care by telehealth to confirm the provider’s licensure and Florida registration.
