Dr. Sarah Park is a Gastroenterology Attending Physician in the Division of Digestive Diseases at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Although Dr. Park was not rushed, I did not feel truly heard during my visit. I came in with ongoing concerns about feeling unwell and hoped to discuss the full picture, but our conversation focused only on the one symptom currently showing. She did not ask pertinent follow-up questions or invite me to share more context about my history, which left me feeling that my broader concerns were overlooked. I would have appreciated a more thorough conversation and a space to explain what I have been experiencing over time. She took up more time speaking than listening.
Dr Park patiently listened to my concerns, reviewed my medical history and advised me. She and her office arranged for an endoscopy within two weeks. I could not be more pleased with her professionalism and personal manner.
