About Me
Dr. Sean A. Kotkin joined Mount Sinai as a Cardiologist in 2019. Dr. Kotkin first began his education at Brown University, where he received his A.B. after concentrating his studies on public health. He went on to receive his medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine, New York State/American Program of Tel Aviv University, when he graduated with the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence. Following his graduation, Dr. Kotkin moved to The Mount Sinai Hospital for his Internal Medicine residency. He then remained at Mount Sinai for his cardiology fellowship in the Clinical Track Cardiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Kotkin holds board certifications in Internal Medicine (ABIM), Cardiovascular Disease (ABIM), Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC), and is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI).
As a clinical cardiologist, Dr. Kotkin cares for patients with a broad spectrum of complex cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and cardiac arrhythmias. Dr. Kotkin also has a special interest in preventative cardiology, lipidology, and noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiac imaging, and vascular ultrasound.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kotkin is a member the American Society of Echocardiography and holds Fellowship status in the American College of Cardiology.
