About Me
Dr. Seher Banu Farabi Atak is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She cares for patients with a wide range of skin conditions and is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care to individuals of all backgrounds and skin types. With training in both medical and procedural dermatology, she has a special interest in the early detection of skin cancer and non-invasive diagnostic tools, such as dermatoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM). Dr. Farabi strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Farabi is involved in research aimed at improving the diagnosis and management of skin diseases. Her areas of interest include noninvasive skin imaging, skin cancer, hidradenitis suppurativa, stem cell applications in dermatology, and the use of artificial intelligence in skin cancer detection. She completed her dermatology training in both Turkiye and the United States and has had the opportunity to work with underserved communities throughout her career. Dr. Farabi believes in the importance of patient education and is dedicated to building long-term partnerships that support her patients’ skin health.
