About Me
Dr. Shalina Shaik is Medical Director for Mount Sinai Doctors in Westchester and Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital. She has practiced Family Medicine for over 10 years. After graduating with her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College in India, Dr. Shaik completed extensive training in the OB/GYN field in India and the UK before moving to the US. She finished her training at Emory University with her residency in Family Medicine, where she acted as Chief Resident during her final year. With her certification by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Shaik's clinical interests include chronic disease management, preventative care, and women's health. Additionally, she is multilingual and can communicate with patients in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Urdu.
Before joining Mount Sinai in 2022, Dr. Shaik practiced as a Faculty Physician at the University of Iowa for 10 years and acted as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Iowa institutions. During this time, she was nominated for two awards at the University of Iowa by her patients. Dr. Shaik is also an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
When discussing her role as a physician, Dr. Shaik says, "I combine both 'Science and Art of Medicine' to provide comprehensive patient care. I believe in the philosophy of 'Make food be the medicine and not medicine be the food.' To unwind, I go on walks and do gardening…nature has a lot of miracles to offer!"

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Dr. Shaik is a very good and caring Doctor whom, I trust with my health care. [...]
I may be a doctor myself but I'm the worst patient ever. Dr. Shaik made me realize that it was my anemia that got worse post op and that's why I am having trouble breathing and falling asleep randomly. [...] She is a life saver!
Dr Shaik is very responsive to my questions and concerns

In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. SHAIK has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
