About Me
Dr. Shane Wasden is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Mount Sinai West in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science. He serves as an Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Wasden provides care for patients with high-risk pregnancies and complex maternal medical conditions. His clinical interests include cardiometabolic disorders in pregnancy (diabetes, lipid disorders, and cardiovascular disease), and the role of the MFM in advocating for evidence-based care for low and high risk individuals to optimize health and wellness in pregnancy.
Dr. Wasden earned his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Dr. Wasden's research focuses on improving maternal and neonatal outcomes, with publications addressing obstetric care, cesarean delivery, maternal health, pregnancy complications, and prenatal diagnosis. He has presented his work at national meetings, including the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and has received honors including the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics Excellence in Teaching Award and the Weill Cornell Medical College Faculty Teaching Award.
Dr. Wasden is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
