About Me
Dr. Shara Feldman is a supervising psychologist at Mount Sinai’s Institute for Advanced Medicine and Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from St. John’s University, and completed her doctoral internship at Manhattan Psychiatric Center. Prior to joining the faculty at Mount Sinai, she served diverse populations within the public mental health system for over 10 years. She appreciates working with adults and older adults from many backgrounds, while also having a special interest in providing therapy to LGBTQ+ people, and those living with HIV and other chronic illnesses. Dr. Feldman’s practice may include or integrate psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavior, and trauma-informed therapy approaches, depending on a person’s needs. She strives to support patients in finding and creating meaning in their lives.
