About Me
Dr. Shaynna N. Herrera is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She serves as the Project Director of the Psychosis Risk Program, which is dedicated to providing care for adolescents and young adults at risk for psychosis and advancing research to improve outcomes in this population. Dr. Herrera's research focuses on improving the identification and treatment of individuals in the early stages of psychosis, with a focus on psychoeducation and treatment engagement. She also directs a psychology externship in psychosis risk and maintains a faculty practice where she provides specialized assessment and therapy for individuals with mood, anxiety, and psychotic sprectrum disorders. Dr. Herrera earned her Bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University and her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Yeshiva University. She completed her predoctoral psychology internship at the UCLA Semel Institute in the Adolescent Serious Mental Illness Track, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in the Advanced Psychology Fellowship in Mental Health Research and Treatment at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.
