About Me

Sheemon  Zackai, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and the Director of the In Situ Simulation Program. Dr. Zackai received his undergraduate degree from Yeshiva University and his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his Pediatric residency at Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital after which he completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. Along with caring for the patients in the Pediatric Critical Care Units, Dr. Zackai has focused his efforts on the support of furthering the medical education of the residents and fellows at Mount Sinai and participated as the Director of the Pediatric Medical Simulation program for many years. Dr. Zackai’s research interests include studying the effect and utility of a high-fidelity simulation curriculum on medical education and training.
